UPDATE : Reader RamblinRover pointed out the Mopar Mystery Car could very well be a Jaguar XF sedan (sorry, "saloon"). Now the only mystery left is the reason why a Jaaggggg is on Mopar's website.
Here's the original post from this morning:
Sometimes you can stumble onto something interesting by total accident. Since the front undertray on my Dodge Charger is a little on the broken side, I wandered over to Mopar.com to price out a new one. And wouldn't you know it? While browsing their site, I found a photo of a car I can't exactly identify.
Finding the Mopar website's mystery car is fairly easy if you need to see it outside of the screencaps I'll include in this post. To see it yourself, just go to Mopar.com, select shop for parts and accessories, and choose a car to shop for. It doesn't matter if you choose a Wrangler or a Dart, the image comes up just the same.
Anyway, here's a screencap of the full web page where the mystery car appears.
For shits and giggles, I enhanced the image of the mystery car in Photoshop to see if I could make out any details. Here's what I came up with. The first shot adjusts the brightness and contrast; the second adjusts the brightness, contrast and exposure.
After doing that I feel confident about a few things. One, it isn't a 2011 Dodge Charger (had to cover that base for the Burner trolls). Two, it looks like some sort of sedan to me, maybe even a wagon. Three, the lines and shapes of the front fenders and hood reminds me of a BMW 3-Series or Jaguar XF, and the front door frames reminds me of a Chrysler 300.
So what is it? Although, I'm not sure I have a few theories. First theory: it's nothing, just some strange product of Photoshop. Second theory: it's a new Chrysler or Dodge product of some sort, but I have no explanation why an automaker would hide a teaser shot of a new car on its parts website. Third theory: it's actually a competitor's product, buried under layers of shadows and put on the website by the web builder as a joke or some sort of subtle "fuck you." If that's the case, I'd imagine he was disgruntled that FCA/Chrysiat/Fiatsler/WemakeFerrarissoourcarsmaycatchonfireCarCo didn't give him a new SRT Viper as partial payment for his services.
What do you think? Are we looking at a new ChryCo station wagon? Or is this just a hilarious example of nerd rage?

It's an XF. No question in my mind. What nails it is the break line from the A-pillar to the fender and hood - a perfect match. No mopar product I've seen yet even comes close, they break the panel up *on* the a-pillar instead of bringing it to the hood. The chrome only seals the deal. It's not a wagon, because what looks like a C- pillar in front of a window is, I believe, the divider strip between the two rear door panes in forced perspective.
The distinctive features of the mirror and side vent are *conveniently* in shadow.

Nope. Unbroken A-pillar with relief next to hood - mystery car has it, Durango does not. Window shape is also wrong, as is the absence of chrome trim.

This line here is your clincher.

Also notice, there's a split/material break in the edge of the mirror, which you can't make out further. This matches the light/trim (depending on option) on the XF mirror.

There is something down here lurking in the shadow. I think it's a side relief/vent.

I thought it was a Durango at first too. But RamblinRover pointed out a few details that don't quite line up.

I think you've cracked this one. Now the question is why is there a Jaguar XF on Mopar's website?
